TrueForce Feedback:

While the exterior of the G923 looks like a more refined version of Logitech’s budget racing wheels the real changes happen under the hood. The first is the inclusion of TrueForce Feedback, a system that allows gamers to feel pistons pumping, gravel crunching, and every shift, drift, and hairpin turn with unprecedented realism.

The way this works is simple: the wheel motors send out a constant stream of current that’s matched to in-game physics and audio, processing it at up to 4000 times per second. This information is then used to generate vibration and rumble that’s filtered through the pedals. As a result, the brake pedal feels more responsive than before and doesn’t require quite as much pressure to reach full stopping power.

However, there’s one hiccup: TrueForce Feedback only really works with games that have been integrated with it by the developer. At launch, only a handful of titles support it including Assetto Corsa Competizione and GT Sport. That said, if you don’t want to use it the G923 still functions just fine without it and doesn’t suffer from any major flaws in that regard.

All in all, the G923 is a worthy successor to its predecessor and a solid choice for racing fans or lapsed drivers looking to broaden their sim racing horizons. And with the addition of the TrueForce feedback and improved force feedback. It’s also a decent upgrade for those already invested in high-end racing setups.

Pedal Sensitivity:

The G923 Drivers are a big upgrade for anyone who’s used one of Logitech’s previous PS4 or Xbox-compatible wheels. The most notable change is the addition of TrueForce feedback. This is Logitech’s force feedback technology that essentially plugs directly into the game’s sim engine to create higher-fidelity in-game responses.

This is layered on top of the updated 2.1nm torque dual motors to deliver a wheel that feels seriously impressive in a variety of games. It’s a very welcome improvement for those who play games such as Assetto Corsa Competizione which pushes for an increased sense of immersion.

Unlike some other racing wheels, the G923 uses load cell pedals rather than potentiometers. These use sensors to measure the actual force on the pedals. Which gives a much more realistic feel and progression. This also means that there’s a lot more room for customizing the pedal response to match the player’s needs.

This is accomplished using the G HUB software on a PC. A wide range of settings can be tweaked, including the wheel operating range and audio effects. This software also offers numerous per-game profiles that can be quickly accessed with the press of a button. There’s also the option to set the brake and throttle sensitivity. The default is 50, which is quite high by most standards.

Launch Assist:

The roar of an engine and the screeching of tyres on asphalt is music to the ears of petrol heads. Typically, this is reserved for racing cars but now it’s possible to replicate the feeling of acceleration from a standing start in your vehicle using the G923’s Launch Control System.

This feature is similar to other ADAS systems like blind-spot warning or lane-keeping assistance and it’s designed to fine-tune the clutch, and drive train. And engine to deliver maximum power and traction to facilitate a quick start from a dead stop. While this may not improve your actual 0-60 times it certainly feels great to be able to launch your car like a professional race car.

In addition to this, there’s also a new 24-point selection dial for changing parameters like brake force or traction control. If your game supports it. You’ll also find all the usual Xbox or PS controller buttons are built right into the wheel. And the RPM LED lights are still present but now they can be controlled by a button on your steering wheel.

Driving Force Shifter:

With the popularity of sim racing rising more and more, people are looking for more realistic gear to experience it. This is where the G923 comes in. It features TRUEFORCE feedback that connects directly to a game’s physics engine for a true feel of driving. It also has a brake and accelerator. And clutch pedals that provide a true-to-life feel. Its brushed metal finish provides added durability and a premium look.

Another feature of the G923 is its Driving Force Shifter. Which allows you to feel like a real-life race car driver. It is a solid shifter with a short-throw design and a six-speed H-pattern transmission. It is designed for the G29 and G920 racing wheels and will work with the latest PC and console racing games.

The only downside of the Driving Force Shifter is that it does not have a sequential mode. Which is important for many people. This is where other competitors like Thrustmaster and Fanatec excel.
