The LaserJet is the first mass-market all-in-one laser device. It replaced noisy daisy wheel impact printers and clunky dot matrix printers. Its printing engine was designed with HP’s Printer Command Language (PCL) rather than Adobe’s PostScript language, allowing it to enter the market about a year before Apple’s competing LaserWriter.
If you’re having a problem with your HP LaserJet, try using Microsoft’s built-in Printer troubleshooter to fix the issue. It can usually solve a number of problems related to drivers and software.
If that doesn’t work, you can also use the SFC and DISM tools to repair corrupt system files. These can be accessed by running Windows PowerShell or Terminal (Admin). It takes some time, but the tool will eventually complete its job.
